Macintosh Version
Naturally, dificulty of the game changes as you switch between the 4 dificulty levels; however, the game is not excessively difficult (when compared to newer games) on any of the levels. Difficulty level only affects the amount of damage taken and starting ammo.
3 versions of the game are available for the Macintosh: First Encounter, Second Encounter, and Third Encounter. The First Encounter is the shareware version of the game that contains only the first 3 levels. Despite the lack of levels, it is great shareware because of the number of free user levels that are available for it. The Second Encounter is the original "full version." It contains 30 levels and ends in a confrontation with Hitler. The Third Encounter has all of the levels from the Second Encounter plus an additional 60 levels. The Third Encounter is redesigned to resemble more closely the PC version and its 6 episodes.
